Nature
Haltinne is a village in the Condroz / Ardennes. Maison Anthica is literally at the edge of Haltinne woods and a wonderful base for walks, bike rides or excursions on horseback. These are our favourite routes and destinations:
Bois de Haltinne
Our house is right next to Haltinne woods. Explore the forest paths and you will certainly find some delightful spots. Or do the walk Haut-Bois - Haltinne, which takes you on a wide circuit around our house. A tour of 9.6 km.
Bois de Gesves
Just a few kilometres from Maison Anthica you will find the (larger) woods known as Bois de Gesves. Discover the short and long walks in and around the woods. Or jump on your (mountain) bike and explore the surroundings. Several routes set off in Gesves.
Grotten van Goyet
One of the most important prehistoric sites in Belgium, and even Europe. Carved in the chalk formations along the right bank of the Samson and more than 300 million years old. Protected since 1976. Rue de Strouvia 3, 5340 Goyet

Citadel of Namur
A gem crowning the city of Namur. The citadel towers above the city on a 100-metre-high hill. Climb the hill, or why not test out the brand-new cable car? Explore 2000 years of history, investigate the 7km-long underground tunnel network, and enjoy the panoramic views!
Maredsous Abbey
A place of relaxation and spirituality. Become acquainted with the traditions and hospitality of the Benedictine monks in truly natural surroundings. Enjoy delicious gastronomic regional produce: Maredsous beers and cheeses.
Citadel of Dinant
It is certainly worth climbing the 408 steps to the Citadel of Dinant. But if you wish to make your life easier, the cable car covers the distance without effort. Enjoy the views of the city of Dinant and the Meuse river, 100 metres below.
Monastère de Chevetogne
Chevetogne Abbey, officially known as the Monastery of the Holy Cross. The monks, from all corners of the world, are dedicated to promoting ecumenism, including between the Orthodox and Roman-Catholic church. Rue Monastère 65, 5590 Ciney.
Durbuy
Officially the world’s smallest city. You won’t be alone, but you are sure to enjoy the pleasant bustle in the paved streets with historic houses, lingering along the banks of the river Ourthe, discovering trinkets in the charming boutiques and relaxing on the terrace of a cosy café.
